Apple: Apple hikes prices of iCloud plans in UK and other countries – Times of India

0

iCloud is something that every Apple user ends up using. The cloud service’s free tier offers ridiculously low storage — a mere 5GB. Users have the option to opt for more storage but at a cost. Now, Apple has reportedly increased the price of iCloud storage in the United Kingdom and a few other countries. According to a report by 9to5Mac, this may have been done due to the fluctuations in the foreign currency exchange rates.
No price rise in India, US
In India, however, Apple hasn’t hiked the price of iCloud storage. Users in India can get up to 50GB of storage at Rs 75 per month, 200GB at Rs 219 per month whereas the 2TB storage costs Rs 749 per month. The report also says that even in the US, Apple hasn’t hiked the prices. The other countries where iCloud now costs more include Poland, Romania, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Sweden, Tanzania, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates.
Countries where price has been hiked
According to the report, prices have been hiked by about 25% for customers in UK. Some of the other countries where iCloud will now cost more include Poland, Romania, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Sweden, Tanzania, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates.
In the UK, Apple used to charge £0.79 for 50 GB, £2.49/for 200 GB, and £6.99/ for 2 TB per month. The iCloud plans in the UK now cost £0.99, £2.99 and £8.99.
