Another Android phone beats Samsung’s Galaxy with supercharged upgrade
First it was Oppo, now it’s Xioami launching new devices that come with a superfast charger in the box. Thanks to the inclusion of this vital free accessory, both of these Chinese firms are beating Samsung as all new Galaxy smartphones only come with a USB-C charging cable and nothing else. That was a decision made by the Korean technology giant to cut down on packaging and reduce the amount of electronic waste it creates.
However, just like the recently released Oppo Reno 8 Pro, the latest 12T Pro from Xiaomi is bucking this trend as it ships with a blisteringly quick 120W HyperCharge power pack.
That means owners can go from fully flat to full in under 20 minutes and all without having to spend a penny extra on plugs.
Galaxy owners wanting to boost their batteries at a rapid rate currently have to add this £30 accessory to their shopping basket when buying their shiny new device.
Along with that speedy charging the Xiaomi 12T Pro also get a swathe of other nice features including the latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, huge 5,000mAh battery and 6.67-inch CrystalRes AMOLED 120Hz display. Xiaomi is promising users will be treated to a pin-sharp image on this screen thanks to striking Dolby Vision and HDR10+ technology which are both included to help boost the visuals.

Spin this phone around and there’s a triple camera array with a whopping 108MP pro-grade primary camera. This sits alongside an 8MP ultra-wide camera and 2MP macro camera for improved close-ups. Along with shooting nice pictures during the day, the 12T Pro should perform well in low light plus there’s the ability to record video in full 8K quality.
Other extras packed into the 12T Pro include loud speakers that are powered by the audio experts at Harman Kardon, there’s an in-built fingerprint scanner under the screen and it features full access to speedy 5G which offers 300Mbps downloads when away from your broadband.
It will be available from October 20th at a £699 price which is very reasonable considering the spec sheet.
Sound too expensive? Don’t fret as Xiaomi is also launching a standard 12T variant which gets slightly fewer features but starts from just £499.
It’s worth noting that anyone pre-ordering any of these devices will get a discount of £100 off that standard price.
There’s even more good news for those buying the 12T Pro with Xiaomi also throwing in a free Redmi Pad tablet.
