Android’s answer to iPhone’s Dynamic Island may come soon – Times of India
In a now-deleted tweet that we have grabbed a screenshot of, Madhav Sheth, the VP of Realme, showed off the “Mini Capsule” feature, which is supposedly working on an upcoming C series smartphone of Realme. The C series is the budget smartphone lineup of Realme, which usually comes to around Rs 10,000.
We see the Mini Capsule showing “SuperVOOC” charging animation, suggesting that the smartphone could feature fast charging. Further, the smartphone in the picture seems to be running Realme UI 4.0.
What is Dynamic Island?
“The Dynamic Island blurs the line between hardware and software, fluidly expanding into different shapes to clearly convey important activities,” says Apple
Put simply, the Dynamic Island is an island that stands out in the sea of illuminated pixels and is constantly changing. Dynamic Island expands to display various notifications, such as when music is playing, the notification pops up in a banner extending from the cutout.
The Realme Mini Capsule looks much more familiar to Dynamic Island, so we can expect it to work likewise. However, nothing much is known about the “Dynamic Island” of Realme.
Last year, soon after the release of the iPhone 14 series, Realme started a community contest, the “Realme Island – Creators Challenge.” In the company’s words, the idea was to add a “software trick to turn the camera cutout into a multifunctional feature.” And it seems like the idea has worked out for Realme.
Apart from Realme, Huawei and Xiaomi are also said to be working on ‘Dynamic Island’ for their smartphones. Also, the vanilla iPhone models of this year, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, are also expected to get the Dynamic Island ditching the notch.
