Android or iOS? Here’s what Instagram has to say on which is better – Times of India

It is a futile and pointless — yet never-ending it seems — debate that has been going on for years. Android or iOS? Which is better? There’s no definitive answer. It is actually quite elementary. The best mobile operating system for you depends on your individual needs and preferences. There’s no right or wrong here. If you want a phone that is highly customisable and has a wide variety of apps available, then Android is a good choice. If you want a phone that is secure and has a well-integrated ecosystem, then iOS is a good choice. Simple, right? Yet, people continue to debate and now Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, has weighed in with his opinion.
What is Instagram’s head’s preferred choice?
In a Thread posted by popular YouTuber MKBHD, Mosseri replied and said, “Android’s now better than iOS”. Now, there are two ways of looking at it. First, it is a great bait to engage users — something that perhaps Threads needs at the moment. It is a reply that is bound to get users to comment. The Android brigade was out in full flow commenting why Android is much better than iOS. The iOS cult was also out to defend and say Android is pretty much “garbage.”
Secondly, it is no secret that Meta and Apple don’t see eye to eye with each other on a variety of issues. There’s no love lost between the two CEOs — Tim Cook and Mark Zuckerberg — either. So much so that a few years ago, it was reported that Zuckerberg had ordered everyone in Meta (then known as Facebook) to use an Android phone. iPhones were literally banned for Meta employees, as per a few reports. Facebook had, in fact, issued a statement also confirming the same. “We’ve long encouraged our employees and executives to use Android because it is the most popular operating system in the world,” Facebook said in a statement a few years ago.
