The closed beta program began on November 30. While there is no word on how one can sign up for the closed beta, the company has now shared a form to register interest in participating in the open beta program, which is scheduled for mid-December. To sign up for the beta program, you will have to fill up a form, and the update will arrive over the air when released. You will need to enter the IMEI number of your Phone (1) and agree to a few terms and conditions to sign up successfully.
As it will be a beta build of Nothing OS, the company advises users to take a full backup of their data before proceeding with the update and also gives them a standard statutory warning to expect bugs, crashes, and issues since the software is still under development.
When is Android 13 releasing for Nothing Phone (1)
There is no word on how long the beta program will go on. But, the stable release for Android 13-based Nothing 1.5 is expected sometime in 2023. But we do not know exactly when.
Nothing is quite late with the Android 13 update, considering most smartphone manufacturers have begun releasing Android 13 for their smartphones and how much the company boasted about the software during the launch.
We expect the Nothing OS 1.5 to be close to Android 13, similar to the current version of Nothing OS. However, do expect some minute tweaks from Nothing, including customised widgets, ringtones, and the dot-matrix font.
