Amazon Prime trick will help you beat price rise AND make it cheaper
Amazon Prime subscribers are running out of time to beat the looming price hike. On September 15 the price of a monthly Amazon Prime subscription is going up from £7.99 to £8.99 in the UK, while the yearly cost is increasing from £79 to £95. You can beat the Amazon Prime price hike by paying for a yearly subscription before September 15 which will help lock in the current price of membership for the next 12 months, but that’s not the only way you can save – thanks to the Amazon Household feature which lets you share a Prime subscription.
Amazon Household lets you share your Amazon Prime membership with another adult in your household.
The person you share your Amazon Prime account with will get access to speedy Prime delivery, as well as access to Amazon’s Prime Video service plus much more.
You’ll also be able to share digital content as well as manage your children’s content via Amazon Household.
This is all incredibly handy if you have another member in your household that also pays for a Prime membership as they can simply cancel it and piggyback off of yours.
Under the new pricing that is kicking in later this month, if two people in your household had been paying for Prime this could help your household save up to £95 a year.
It’s the first price rise of its kind in years, with 2014 being the last time the price of Prime went up in the UK.
Existing subscribers face a choice of cancelling their subscription or continuing to pay to enjoy all the many perks that Amazon Prime offers.
Amazon Prime offers a raft of benefits including one day Prime delivery, access to the Prime Day sales (which is one of the year’s biggest sales alongside the Black Friday event), access to Prime Video – which is the home of the new Lord of the Rings show The Rings of Power – as well as Prime Reading, Prime Music and Prime Gaming access.
If you’ve never tried Amazon Prime before you can sign-up to an Amazon Prime free trial to see if it’s all it’s cracked up to be.
