The e-commerce major has announced that the Fire TV customers will now be able to stream more than a million movies and TV show episodes across 12,000+ apps including Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar, Zee5, Jio Cinema etc. and enjoy free/ad-supported content from platforms like MiniTV, YouTube, MX Player, TVFPlay, YuppTV and many more. Besides streaming apps, Fire TV users will also be able to access 70+ (TBC) live channels such as Colors, SET India, Discovery, News18, DD National, Aaj Tak, Zee News, India Today, and DD National, and more from DTH set-top-box on their home screen.
Apart from this, the e-tailer has also revealed that during the upcoming Amazon Prime Day sale, Prime customers can avail up to 55% off on Amazon devices such as Fire TV Stick Lite, Fire TV Stick and Fire TV Stick 4K Max. For the uninitiated, a Fire TV Stick can be connected to any television via an HDMI port to simplify streaming and upgrade to a smart TV experience. It delivers quick app starts, and fast streaming, and comes with the Alexa Voice Remote to control playback and search content with voice commands.
Speaking about the change, Parag Gupta, director and country manager for Amazon Devices India, said, “Streaming preferences of Indian viewers are fast evolving. Amazon has unveiled its yearly two-day sale in India. The sale is set to commence on July 15 at 12:00 am and extend until midnight on July 16.
