All-rounder Cameron Green ‘100% ready’ for third Test against India | Cricket News – Times of India
It will be a dual boost for the visitors, who are trailing 2-0 in the 4-Test series with a fit-again pacer Mitchell Starc also available for the next two Tests.
Green was out of action with a broken finger since the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne last year. The 23-year-old got injured after being hit by an Anrich Nortje delivery.
“I was so, so close last game but I think probably having an extra week has helped a lot, so I’m 100 percent ready to go,” Green was quoted as saying by Fox Cricket.
“I had my first hit probably four or five days ago against the pace bowlers and felt completely fine.”
Green inclusion will bolster the misfiring Aussie top-order and with skipper Pat Cummins set to miss the next Test, the allrounder will also be adding firepower to the bowling department.
“My bowling is actually going really well, I think we probably thought the ball on the back of the finger rolling off might be painful but that’s been completely fine,” Green said.
Green is expected to stay in India for the next four months where he will be playing the ODI series after the Tests which will then be followed by his first-ever Indian Premier League campaign.
