As per a research note by analyst Jeff Pu for Haitong International Securities (via), the Cupertino-based giant will provide the entire iPhone 14 lineup with a high refresh rate display. If the report is to be believed, all four devices in the iPhone 14 family – iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max – will flaunt a 120Hz ProMotion display. Not just that, the report further claims that all four devices will have 6GB of RAM. This is unlike the brand’s previous generations, as the iPhone 13 Mini and iPhone 13 features 4GB of RAM and the Pro variants came with 6GB of RAM.
Clearly, if both these rumours turn out to be true, there will at least be no distinction between the four devices in terms of refresh rate and RAM capacity. It, therefore, remains to be seen as to what “Pro” features Apple will offer on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The cameras on both these devices will, unsurprisingly, be better than the vanilla iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Max, but this time around, it does not look like the Pro variants will be starkly different from their non-Pro counterparts, at least in terms of displays.
And, when we talk about displays, we need to keep in mind the display sizes as well. Even though the iPhone 14 will likely come with a smaller display (albeit a high refresh rate panel), the iPhone 14 Max is said to come with a large panel like the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Lastly, the report claims that the iPhone 14 Pros will start at 256GB of onboard memory, while the non-Pros will likely start at 64GB. The Pro variants are also said to feature a 48MP main camera.
