The tweet says, “video posts are now shared as Reels.” The prompt states that if your account is public and you post a video, other users will be allowed to use the audio from the video to make their own Reels. Further, anyone can now utilise the user’s Reel to make a remix and download it for their remake. Users can disable remixing through settings.

According to a report from TechCrunch, a spokesperson from Meta has mailed the publication stating that Instagram is testing the feature on the app that will turn the video post into Reels. “We’re testing this feature as part of our efforts to simplify and improve the video experience on Instagram.”
The feature is still under testing, and it is unclear if it will be permanent. It’s also unclear what will happen to already-posted Instagram videos and whether you will still be able to upload 10-minute videos or up to 60 minutes if the account is verified.
Instagram has not yet announced a release date for the new functionality that converts video posts into Instagram Reels for all users. The social networking site is also anticipated to announce soon what will happen to the existing video posts on the platform.
Instagram was recently testing a TikTok-like full-screen experience for its feed. This came after the social media platform removed its IGTV feature from the app. All these changes support the Head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri’s claim that ‘Instagram is no longer a photo-sharing app.’
