Ali Wong at a Fancy House Party, and a Stylish Gala at PS1
Los Angeles is so consumed with celebrity that even some houses are famous. Take the Sheats-Goldstein residence, a co-star in films like “The Big Lebowski.” Last Friday the e-commerce site Mytheresa leveraged its renown to fete the new Paula’s Ibiza collection from Loewe, a beachy capsule the brand has released each summer since 2017. “This is the playful part of the brand,” said Tiffany Hsu, Mytheresa’s vice president for buying.
On the other coast, MoMA PS1 hosted its annual gala in the museum’s front courtyard. Guests mingled over drinks and music by BombaYo, followed by a seated dinner punctuated with speeches by the evening’s honorees: Robert Soros, a member of the museum’s board of trustees, and the artists James Turrell, Daniel Lind-Ramos and Anicka Yi. A performance by the singer duendita signaled it was time for the after-party and for guests, including Solange Knowles, to dance into the early hours of the morning.
