Akshaya Tritiya: ETMarkets Investors’ Guide: Can buying gold this Akshaya Tritiya bring shine to your investment portfolio? | The Economic Times Podcast

0
Hello and welcome to ETMarkets Investors’ Guide, a show about asset classes, investment ideas and market trends. I am Saloni Goel.

While gold prices are down nearly 9 per cent from all-time high of August 2020, they have outperformed equities this calendar. Spot gold prices as suggested by MCX have climbed 7 per cent so far in 2022 compared with a 3 per cent fall in the BSE Sensex. With Akshaya Tritiya, an annual Hindu and Jain spring festival next week, and marriage season ahead, can gold be a good investment for the next year?

ETMarkets.com talked to Sugandha Sachdeva, VP-Commodity & Currency Research at Religare Broking, to know what lies ahead for gold prices. Sachdeva discussed the factors that may play a key role in influencing gold prices in the next one year and suggested a few ways to make most of the investment in the yellow metal.

Welcome to the show, Ms Sughandha.

– Do you see strong demand for physical gold this Akshaya Tritiya?

– What is the best way to invest in gold at present?

– What factors do you think will play a role in influencing domestic gold prices ahead?

– What are the returns that you see in gold by the next Akshay Tritiya?

– Given the inflationary environment, what percentage of gold investors should have in their investable portfolio?

Thank you Sugandha for your time. That’s all in this week’s Special podcast. Do keep checking this space for more such interesting content and take time out to follow our market podcasts twice every day. Stay safe and Happy Weekend!
