Airtel 5G Plus service now live in Port Blair – Times of India

Last week Airtel expanded its 5G Plus service in 500 cities in India. The company has now rolled out 5G services in Port Blair. With this roll out, Airtel has become the first telecom operator to offer 5G services in the Union territory of Andaman and Nicobar islands.
What Airtel users need to do toaccess its 5G service

  • Users need to be in a 5G city or area
  • To access 5G, users need to check for notifications/alerts in their Airtel Thanks app.
  • To experience Airtel 5G Plus smartphones, customers need to change their preferred network type to 5G.
  • Users can access the Airtel 5G Plus service on their existing SIM cards and don’t need to get a new SIM.
  • Also, Airtel 5G Plus service is available on all the existing data plans. So, you don’t have to buy a new plan.

Commenting on the launch, Ayan Sarkar, CEO – West Bengal and Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Bharti Airtel, said, “Connectivity to our customers in the entryway to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands is in line with our commitment to bridging the digital divide and connecting communities who need it the most. I am thrilled to announce the launch of Airtel 5G Plus in Port Blair. Customers here can now experience ultrafast networks and enjoy speeds up to 20-30 times faster than the current 4G speeds. We are in the process of lighting up the entire Union territory which will allow customers to enjoy superfast access to high-definition video streaming, gaming, multiple chatting, instant uploading of photos and more.”
Airtel Unlimited offers
Recently, Airtel also announced its Unlimited data offer. The service provider announced that all the postpaid users and the prepaid subscribers with a data plan of Rs 239 and above will be able to avail of the offer. In order to avail of the offer Airtel users just need a 5G-enabled smartphone and they have to present in a 5G network area. Airtel users can claim the offer by logging on to the Airtel Thanks app.
