Air France Continuing to Resume, Expand Global Network | Business Travel News

Based on strong summer demand, Air France is further resuming and expanding its global network, the carrier announced Tuesday. During the winter season between November 2022 and March 2023, the airline will serve 171 destinations, with the fleet in operation and capacity levels “close to those of winter 2019.”

As previously announced, Air France plans to launch on Dec. 12 daily nonstop service between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Newark Liberty International Airport. The route marks the return of Air France to Newark since 2012. The carrier also will extend its Paris-Charles de Gaulle-Dallas summer route for the winter season with three flights per week operated with Boeing 777-200 ER aircraft.

An additional North American route will be between Montreal and Pointe-à-Pitre in Guadeloupe, beginning Oct. 22 with two flights per week operated with Airbus A320 aircraft.

The carrier on Oct. 30 will resume its flights between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Cape Town, South Africa, which had been suspended during the pandemic. The three weekly flights will be operated with Boeing 787-9 aircraft.

As Japan continues to reopen its borders, Air France has resumed its route between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Tokyo-Haneda with five weekly flights operated with Boeing 787-9 aircraft. 

The carrier also has included several short- and medium-haul flights throughout Europe and Africa for the winter to its network. New destinations to debut Dec. 10 include Kittilä, Finland; Tromsø, Norway; and Innsbruck and Salzburg, Austria. Air France also is extending its summer schedule through the winter for the following routes: Paris-Orly and Tunis, Tunisia; Marseille, France, and Algiers, Algeria; Toulouse, France, and Algiers; and Toulouse and Oran, Algeria.
