Bhopal: Fever clinic for screening of patients will commence at AIIMS Bhopal from Tuesday. The hospital also carries out genome sequencing for the novel Coronavirus. District hospital in Bhopal and Gandhi Medical College (GMC) are expected to follow suit.
AIIMS director Dr Ajai Singh conducted a review of the Covid-19 preparedness at the institute according to a press release. A fever clinic will be established by tomorrow in the OPD area G-03 near registration counters. Patients suffering from fever are also requested to report directly to the fever clinic in the area G-03, official said.
AIIMS Bhopal department of microbiology, HoD, Dr Debasis Biswas informed in the meeting that his department is receiving samples for genomic sequencing. Ayush block of the institute will continue to be utilized for vaccination to protect against Covid-19.
The measure by AIIMS Bhopal is being dubbed as a ‘proactive measure we need to prepare AIIMS Bhopal for any such kind of eventuality and instructed all the officers present in the meeting to make all the necessary to combat any challenge of the kind’. Throat and nasal swap collection of the suspected patients will also be available.
