Investment Rationale
Apollo Hospitals Enterprise’s (AHEL) Q1FY23 performance was a mixed bag. Revenue grew 7% QoQ to Rs38bn (I-Sec: Rs36.6bn). EBITDA margins stood at 12.9% vs estimate of 14%. ARPOB improved while ALOS declined sequentially during the quarter. Company remains focused on expanding its digital platform (Apollo 24/7) and will continue to invest aggressively in it, which would restrict operational performance in the near term. It remains positive on AHEL’s long-term outlook considering its strong brand and pan-India presence in hospital segment, and aggressive focus on creating a digital network for pharmacies, doctor consultation, clinics and diagnostics. Recent run up in the stock price (~21% in last 3 months) makes upside limited. It downgrades the stock to ADD (from Buy) with a revised target price of Rs4,736/share (earlier: Rs4,336/share).
Promoter/FII Holdings
Promoters held 29.33 per cent stake in the company as of 30-Jun-2022, while FIIs owned 48.48 per cent, DIIs 15.64 per cent.
