A Town for Heady Looks

0

A week already crowded with gowns from Met Gala was made a little more wild on Wednesday, when the Central Park Conservancy raised $4 million at its 40th annual Frederick Law Olmsted luncheon, fondly known as the “hat lunch.” Despite gray skies, it looked as if the Easter Parade had crashed the Kentucky Derby and landed at the Conservatory Garden near 105th Street.

In Queens, the Noguchi Museum celebrated Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month on Tuesday with a night of understated but subtly stylish looks including a cropped suit worn by Danny Castañeda, a peanut butter entrepreneur. Japanese Breakfast performed a solo set, and small dishes including a dragon fruit tofu were provided by chef Danny Bowien.

And in Lower Manhattan, the Prince’s Trust, a charity started by Prince Charles to help young people find careers, held its first fund-raiser in the United States on April 28, hosted by Lionel Richie and Edward Enninful at Cipriani South Street. There the outfits were more traditionally black-tie glamorous, including Gigi Hadid in a Valentino gown from their pink collection.

The Most Dressed features great outfits from up, down and all around town.
