“We cannot wait for everyone to experience our joyful, juggling Jester this holiday season.” – Marzanna Wilk, Owner, Orchid Cellar

Orchid Cellar, Maryland’s first meadery, announced today that they will publicly release their latest mead “Jester” at noon on Black Friday in their tasting room. Jester, aged twelve months, is Orchid Cellar’s first orange mead.
Jester may be named after a medieval jokester, but your tastebuds will not be fooled by this classic mead. Caramelized honey fermented with zesty oranges results in a joyful beverage that is as warm as it is smooth. Ready for consumption at family holiday gatherings or any time, Jester can be enjoyed chilled or mixed into cocktails like Old Fashioneds.
“Jester’s flavor is bright and balanced,” said Marzanna Wilk, Owner of Orchid Cellar. “We cannot wait for everyone to experience our joyful, juggling Jester this holiday season.”
During Jester’s release on November 25, Orchid Cellar’s tasting room will be open for extended hours, until 9:00 PM. The tasting room is located at 8546 Pete Wiles Road, Middletown, Maryland, 21769. Orchid Cellar will be joined by Stroker’s BBQ, whose food truck will be on location from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Jester will be available for tasting and for glass and bottle purchases until sold out.
Orchid Cellar is a woman-owned, family-operated meadery and winery located in the Middletown Valley west of Frederick. Established in 2006 as Maryland’s first meadery, Orchid Cellar specializes in the recreation of ancient Polish mead recipes and experiments with new-world taste. Operations were expanded in 2016 to include a hand-built, log cabin tasting room that has the same warmth and artisanal character as the meads. With a scenic mountain view, Orchid Cellar treats visitors as friends and creates a welcoming environment for all to enjoy the world’s oldest form of alcohol.
