Atanu Das won gold medals in the 2021 Archery World Cup Men’s Individual and Mixed Teams events.
Atanu outclassed Spanish World Cup debutant Daniel Castro 6-4 to win the men’s recurve individual final and clinch his first ever World Cup individual medal in Guatemala City in April.
With his wife Deepika, Atanu clinched the mixed team top honours in the Paris World Cup in June. Deepika and Atanu bounced back from a 0-2 deficit to down the Netherland’s Sjef van den Berg and Gabriela Schloesser 5-3 and help India clinch a third gold medal from the competition.
Atanu, for his efforts in 2021 was nominated for the Male Archer of the Year award for TOISA 2021.
