This could be the first smartwatch to feature latest Qualcomm wearable platforms – Times of India
Qualcomm recently unveiled its next generation wearable platforms — Snapdragon W5 and W5+ platforms designed to power upcoming smartwatches. In the official press note, the company also confirmed that Oppo and Mobvie will be the first brands to launch their smartwatches based on these two chipsets.
Soon after the Qualcomm’s announcement, Mobvio has teased its next-generation smartwatch confirming that it will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest W5+ Gen 1SoC. Although, the smartwatch isn’t expected to launch until later this year. But it could very well be the first smartphone to feature Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 chipset.
According to the report, the upcoming TicWatch is likely to be the successor of the TicWatch Pro.
While not much is known about the upcoming TicWatch, the company has been confirmed to launch the watch with WearOS. Although, the version hasn’t been officially released, but we are assuming it is going to be the latest version of Wear OS.
In addition to that, Oppo is also confirmed to be working on a smartwatch based on Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chip. The upcoming smartwatch from the company is likely to be called Oppo Watch 3. However, Oppo hasn’t revealed anything about the watch officially as of now.
