Xiaomi increases the price of these two budget smartphones – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Xiaomi has increased the price of two of its budget smartphones in India. The company has hiked the price of Redmi 9A and Redmi 9A Sport by Rs 300. The smartphone maker claims that the shortage of smartphone components is the reason behind the price hike.
In an official statement, Xiaomi said, “Due to massive demand-supply mismatch, the majority of components used in smartphones have seen an upward movement in their prices. Unfortunately, due to such market dynamics, a surge in price is inevitable and it is further leading to a price hike on some of our models.”
Xiaomi launched the Redmi 9A in India last year, while the Redmi 9A Sport was launched in September this year.
Redmi 9A, Redmi 9A Sport: Revised price
Both the Redmi smartphones come in two variants — 2GB+32GB and 3GB+32GB and the company has increased the price of both the variants. After the price hike, the 2GB and 3GB versions of both the smartphones can be purchased at Rs 7,299 and Rs 8,299 respectively.

The Redmi 9A comes with a P2i coating which makes the device splash-proof. It features a 6.53-inch HD+ display with 720×1600 pixel resolution. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G25 processor paired with 2GB/3GB of RAM.
Redmi 9A comes with 32GB internal storage which can be expanded further by adding a microSD card. The smartphone runs Android 10 operating system topped with the company’s own MIUI 11.
Coming to the camera, the Redmi 9A sports a single-lens 13MP rear camera with an f/2.2 lens. The front is home to a 5MP selfie shooter with an f/2.2 aperture. The device is backed by a 5000mAh battery with 10W fast charging support.

Redmi 9A has a 6.53-inch TFT IPS HD+ screen with 1600×720 pixel resolution. It is powered by MediaTek Helio G25 octa-core processor and runs on MIUI based on Android operating system.
The device is backed by a 5,000mAh battery and offers support for 10watt fast charging. As mentioned above, the phone offers up to 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. The internal storage of the device can be expanded up to 512GB using a microSD card.
The smartphone features a 13MP rear camera with an f/2.2 aperture. For selfies, it comes with a 5MP front camera. Carbon Black, Metallic Blue and Coral Green are the colour variants of the phone.
