Anand Mahindra welcomes TCS to the world of electric racing – Times of India

Mahindra Group chairman Anand Mahindra has welcomed India’s largest IT company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to the world of electric racing. Jaguar’s Formula E outfit will compete as Jaguar TCS Racing in the upcoming 2022 season, with TCS coming on board as the team’s new title sponsor. “Welcome to the world of electric racing @TCS! It’s terrific to have like-minded, purpose driven brands join the movement. Yes, @FIAFormulaE is a movement; a movement that keeps alive the thrill of racing & speed, but through innovation and sustainability,” said Mahindra in a tweet.

TCS-Jaguar Land Rover partnership
TCS announced the partnership with Tata Group owned Jaguar Land Rover last week. The Indian IT giant has joined the British racing team Jaguar Racing as title partner ahead of the 2021/22 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. British Formula E Team Rebranded as Jaguar TCS Racing. The new partnership, as per the company, aims to build on the company’s existing business relationship. Jaguar Land Rover and TCS have been longstanding partners, collaborating on various fronts since 2012.
“During this multi-year partnership, TCS and Jaguar will create a dynamic platform that will drive research and innovation while steering towards advanced concepts and electric vehicle (EV) technologies. TCS will leverage its leadership in technology transformation and experience working with premier players in the EV value chain, to help Jaguar TCS Racing become a catalyst for electrification, pushing towards low carbon emissions and sustainable mobility. The partnership will see the creative use of data and insights from the racetrack to shape the wider growth, development, and transformation of the entire electric vehicle ecosystem,” said the company in a statement.
The company said that Jaguar TCS Racing is focussed on refining the most successful race car in the team’s Formula E history including revisions in several software areas to improve energy management, making the race car faster, and more efficient. The team has also invested time in understanding and simulating the new qualifying system and practicing in-garage pitstops, which will become a significant feature of the first 10 minutes of the new format.
