Manchester City midfielder Kevin de Bryune has suffered a fractured noise and a bone around his left eye socket after a nasty collision during their Champions League final against Chelsea in Porto on Saturday.

Kevin de Bruyne had to be taken off at the hour mark during the Champions League final with a concussion injury. He was reduced to tears and was in immense pain as he made his way out of the pitch with Chelsea leading 1-0. De Bruyne suffered the injury after an accidental clash with Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger left him on the ground.

“Hi guys just got back from the hospital. My diagnosis is acute nose bone fracture and left orbital fracture,” De Bruyne wrote on Twitter.

“I feel okay now. Still disappointed about yesterday obviously but we will be back.”

De Bruyne’s injury jolted Manchester City who were well below their best against Chelsea on Saturday. Kai Havertz’s goal in the 42nd minute helped Chelsea take the lead which they successfully defended and sealed their 2nd Champions League goal.

De Bruyne did not give a timeline for his return to action, with Belgium set to play their opening European Championship fixture against Russia at St Petersburg on June 12. It remains to be seen if the midfielder will be available for Belgium’s opening game.
