Kanye West X Account Unbanned: This celebrity is back on X after Elon Musk banned him last year – Times of India
Why Ye was banned
Musk said that the image Ye posted was incitement to violence. “I tried my best. Despite that, he again violated our rule against incitement to violence.
Account will be suspended,”Musk said.
Some suspected that Ye was removed due to an image mocking Musk. However, the billionaire clarified that it was due to the image of Swastika and not his.
“Just clarifying that his account is being suspended for incitement to violence, not an unflattering pic of me being hosed by Ari. Frankly, I found those pics to be helpful motivation to lose weight!” Musk posted.
Interestingly, this is the second time that Ye is back on the microblogging platform under Musk. The SpaceX CEO reinstated his account soon after he purchased the social media company.
Ye’s account restrictions
According to a report by the Wall Street Journal (via TechCrunch), Ye’s account has some limitations. Despite having a gold tick mark, which is given to an official organisation on X, the rapper-producer won’t be eligible for monetisation and ads will not appear next to his posts.
Ye’s last tweet was posted on December 2, 2022, and Ye hasn’t made any posts yet. Citing a person familiar with the matter, the report said that the account was restored after he gave assurance that he won’t post antisemitic hateful content.
Last week, X rolled out an ad revenue-sharing program that will allow verified creators to share revenue from impressions of ads displayed in replies to the content they post on X. The company claimed that this will help people “earn a living directly on X.”
