The Healthy Millet Menu By The Lalit Group Pays Tribute To India’s Culinary Heritage
The Lalit Group has recently launched an exciting culinary affair named “Shree Anna” – a celebration of India’s forgotten millets. This nationwide promotion, hosted at all Lalit hotels, shines a spotlight on the nutritional value and versatility of millets while supporting local farmers. An event was held on the 19th of July, and it gathered some prominent personalities, including actor Dalip Tahil, Diedrah Kelly (Consulate General of Canada), DJ MaFaiza, Bharti Divgikar (mother of Rani KoHEnur), Cory Walia, and popular Chefs Gautam Mehrishi, Shantanu Gupte, and Jerson Fernandes.
The event showcased an array of millet-based dishes, inviting guests to savour this culinary revival. Following the inauguration, The Healthy Millet Menu will be available across all Lalit outlets nationwide for an entire month. Executive chefs in each city – with Chef Rishi Kapoor leading the charge at The Lalit Mumbai – will curate a delightful experience for food enthusiasts.
The menu offers a wide range of millet-based dishes that cater to different tastes and preferences. From Foxtail Millet and Barnyard Millet to Finger Millet and Kodo Millet, each variety brings its unique flavours and nutritional benefits. Additionally, the menu features delectable options such as Crunchy Edamame and Amaranth Salad, Thai Spiced Infused Foxtail and Pomelo Salad, Crunchy Quinoa Bites, and Ragi Idlis, among others.
Chef Rishi Kapoor (The Lalit Mumbai) emphasized the importance of millets in India’s culinary heritage. He shared, “The Healthy Millet Menu is a tribute to the culinary and agricultural legacy of India. Beyond their exceptional nutritional profile, millets offer a sustainable solution that nurtures both our well-being and our farmers’ livelihoods.”
The Healthy Millet Menu will be available at all Lalit Hotels outlets across India (24/7, Oko, and Baluchi) from the 20th of July to the 19th of August 2023.
