Apple launched its first-ever mixed-reality headset, the Vision Pro at its annual developer conference WWDC 2023. Developers working on apps for the Apple Vision Proheadset will soon be able to apply for the developer kit. The Cupertino-based tech giant has updated its official page to confirm that developers can start applying for the headset’s developer kit in July.
During the launch of the Vision Pro, Apple mentioned that the mixed-reality headset won’t go for sale until early 2024. Until then, the company is set to produce an Apple Vision Pro developer kit that will help app makers to create apps for the headset before it is officially released. However, Apple has confirmed that the developer kit will be available for a select number of developers.

The company will also open developer labs in six locations — Cupertino, London, Munich, Shanghai, Singapore, and Tokyo. At these labs, developers will be able to get hands-on time and experience their apps running on Apple Vision Pro.
With the developer kit, developers can quickly build, iterate, and test the experience of their app or game on Apple Vision Pro. Developers who already have an iPad or iPhone app on the App Store will also be able to apply for the Vision Pro developer kit.
