Sap: SAP Labs starts construction of second Bangalore campus; to create 15,000 jobs – Times of India
The ceremony witnessed the presence of Sindhu Gangadharan, MD and SVP, SAP Labs India; Mohammed Anzy, Chief Operating Officer, SAP Labs India; and Roshan Gowda, Regional Head, Global Real Estate and Facilities – APJ & Greater China, SAP.
Biggest lab outside Germany
Founded in November 1998, SAP Labs India has become SAP’s largest R&D center outside of Germany. It is said to drive SAP’s product strategy, is responsible for SAP core solutions, and provides product localization and India-specific solutions. SAP Labs India represents the entire breadth of SAP product portfolio and contributes to SAP flagship products, like SAP Business Technology Platform.
Sindhu Gangadharan, MD and SVP, SAP Labs India, performed the groundbreaking for the new state-of-the-art campus. According to the company, the new campus will span 41.07 acres and accommodate 15,000 people while zeroing in on sustainability, wellness, and inclusion and keeping the employee at the centre of SAP’s operations.
Speaking at the ceremony, Sindhu Gangadharan said, “As SAP Labs India marks its 25th Anniversary this year, we are deepening our investments in India with a new 41-acre campus that would create 15,000 new jobs in Bangalore. This campus in Devanahalli, North Bangalore will be a reflection of SAP’s vision towards minimizing environmental impact and is designed to be Net Zero, Water Positive, and Carbon Neutral in operations. Additionally, employee wellness and inclusivity would be central to the people’s experience at SAP’s new campus. We are elated at the commencement of construction work and can’t wait to further elevate people’s experiences at SAP with this new campus. The first phase of the facility is expected to be operational by 2025.”
