Lava Agni 2 design and specifications leaked ahead of launch

  • The Lava Agni 2 design and specifications have now been leaked before its launch courtesy of tipster Abhishek Yadav.
  • The leaked image of the upcoming smartphone showcases the new circular camera housing which will host the multi-sensor camera system and the LED flash. The housing is finished black and gets “AI Matrix Camera” branding.
  • The lettering also includes camera specifications that emphasises the new 50MP rear shooter which could get 1.0μm pixels and f/1.88 aperture.
  • The back panel has a new shade of Blue and a soft reflective finish. Lava and 5G branding can also be seen on the bottom edge of the smartphone.
  • The Lava Agni 2 will get the new Dimensity 7050 chipset from MediaTek. This will be paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
  • This is an upgrade as compared to its predecessor which comes with the Dimensity 810 SoC from MediaTek and gets 128GB of storage.
  • The Lava Agni 2 will also feature a new AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication. When compared, the first-generation model comes with an LCD panel and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
  • The main camera setup has also been rejigged and now moves from a 64MP shooter to a 50MP sensor. This might seem like a downgrade, but we will reserve our verdict after we test the cameras. The camera setup will be assisted by an LED flash.
  • The Lava Agni 2 smartphone will be running on Android 13 OS out of the box.
  • The first-generation Lava Agni smartphone was launched at Rs 19,999 and the new device could be expected to be priced similarly, or slightly higher.
  • MediaTek had confirmed that the Agni 2 will be the first phone to launch with the new Dimensity 7050 chipset. Since the chip is official, the phone should be released soon i.e. later this month.
