4 IPOs in 5 yrs will mean huge value creation in Patanjali Foods: Abneesh Roy
What was your own observation out of all the commentary from Patanjali group?
Four IPOs in five years means investors are seeing huge value creation in Patanjali Foods which has almost Rs 50,000 crore market cap. Patanjali Foods has very aggressive plans on each of the lines of the business in terms of palm plantation or core FMCG. They have plans to hire specific CEOs for each of the different verticals within Patanjali Foods. Currently, that is the only listed entity.
As an overall group also, they have a huge size and scale with Rs 10,000 crore plus revenues and Rs 40 crore PAT. It is a large group and getting listed is ultimately the vision for most of the companies because it does give you visibility. All these are consumption brands. It gets them visibility in terms of the shareholders, consumers.
Second, it also helps them in terms of attracting the right talent in terms of giving ESOPs, etc. Currently, these are the four IPOs we need to wait for over five years so there’s more concrete data on how they plan to do it and when they plan to do it.
But Patanjali Foods has created good value for the shareholders. It has almost Rs 50,000 crore kind of market cap and huge vision to take it multiple times in terms of the revenue and PAT, especially the palm plantation business. Currently, it is small but they want to make it -much larger over the five year, ten year timeframe.
