12 Best National Coffee Day Deals on Beans and Espresso Machines

0

Happy Coffee Day, fellow coffee lovers! What better way to honor the world’s favorite caffeinated beverage than deals on coffee and coffee accessories? A few of our favorite bean subscription services, coffee companies, and roasters are offering deals for the occasion, so if you’ve been itching for some new coffee or an espresso machine, now’s a good time to buy.

If you’re worried about how long these deals will last, I have good news: They’re all sticking around until at least October 3. That’s partly because the event is actually two events: National Coffee Day falls on September 29, and International Coffee Day is on October 1. The dates are so close that most of the retailers offering deals smoosh ’em together into one long National and International Coffee Day Weekend. Hooray!

Coffee Bean Deals

Atlas Coffee Club

Using code WIREDCOFFEEDAY will net you a free bag of coffee beans with your first order. Atlas Coffee Club has been a mainstay of our Best Coffee Subscriptions guide for good reason. It offers a diverse selection of single-origin coffee beans, freshly roasted, delivered straight to your door, for a reasonable price.

Use code FREECOFFEE to get a free bag of beans with any purchase. Bean Box curates and delivers coffee roasted all over the US, getting you the freshest, most flavorful cups from taste-tested roasters. When you subscribe, you can pick your flavor preferences (including decaf), or just let Bean Box’s curators pick your beans for you. They can put together a flavorful flight for you every week, two weeks, or month.

Single-origin beans are coffee beans that aren’t blended. These are beans that are grown in one place, and they’re all roasted together, which gets you some really interesting and unique flavors that can be lost when they’re blended with beans from other regions. They’re normally a bit more expensive than coffee blends, but with Partners Coffee’s discount, they’re about the same price. It’s a good chance to check out single-origin beans if you’ve been curious.

Use code COFFEEDAY30 to snag the discount. Delight Coffee doesn’t just provide the usual coffee subscription options—it also produces its own coffee pods. I’m not a huge fan of pods, given their environmental impact, but Delight’s pods are recyclable and made from (mostly) recycled materials. It’s still not quite as clean as just brewing your own coffee in a reusable or paper filter, but if you have a pod maker you just can’t live without, give Delight a try.

Use code RPCOFFEEDAY22 to get the discount. You’ll need to change the size of the bag to 16 ounces for this discount to work. Roasting Plant Coffee roasts its own beans for its café locations and offers those same beans via a subscription service. The selection is narrower than what you’ll find on other coffee subscriptions, but it’s sometimes nice to trust a single roaster and get a consistent brew every time.

Coffee Maker Deals

Breville Barista Express

This is a great all-around espresso machine that has all the bells and whistles you’d want. A steam wand for delicious lattes? Yep. A built-in burr grinder? You bet. All you need to do is fill the reservoir with water, grind your beans, tamp them, and pull a shot with the press of a button. WIRED reviews editor Julian Chokkattu has been using his since 2018 with no problems. This deal is also available at Bed Bath & Beyond

I’ve never been a big fan of automatic espresso machines, but the Affetto holds a special place in my heart. It’s expensive, and it can get messy inside (make sure you clean it thoroughly after every couple of uses), but there’s something really satisfying about hitting a button and getting a pretty well-pulled shot of espresso and seeing it dispensed. It even has a button for an Americano (be still my heart), and the steam wand does a great job of getting a reliable foam going. Just make sure you take the sleeve off of the wand after every use and give it a wipe-down. This deal is also available at Crate & Barrel.

Is espresso is too expensive, too fiddly, or too messy for you? Having a premium drip coffee maker in your kitchen can really elevate your morning coffee. With a reliable timer and internal drip head that evenly saturates the coffee beans, the Café Specialty Drip Coffee Maker produces a rich cup of coffee without any of the bitterness or astringency you can get with a lower-quality machine. This deal is also available at Crate & Barrel and Best Buy.

Mr. Coffee One-Touch CoffeeHouse

If you want delicious lattes and cappuccinos without the hassle, then a Mr. Coffee OneTouch is the way to go. It’ll do most of the work for you, though you’ll need to clean the milk canister at least once a week.

The Specialista is a powerful little espresso machine. It’s surprisingly compact for a machine with a built-in grinder, it has a nice shallow drip tray (which I always love, because those things get gross so fast if they’re too deep), and it even comes with a tamping mat, tamper, and dosing funnel to get your shots as consistent as possible.

Other Coffee Deals

Oxo Conical Burr Grinder

It’s not unusual to see this grinder dip to this price, but it’s a deal well worth highlighting. This is our favorite grinder for most people. It uses a conical burr grinder, which is what we prefer, as it allows for more precision in your grind type. There are 15 grind settings, so you can get coarse grounds for French press or finer grounds for espresso. This deal is also available at Target.

Don’t have the space for a machine? A compact handheld foamer like this can get you pretty great results if you prefer lattes and cappuccinos. The Nanofoamer is one of our favorites, offering a creamy texture to your milk for a perfect cup of coffee.
